An Important Message From Our Dentists:
Due to the latest American Dental Association (ADA) and New Mexico Dental Association (NMDA) guidelines to “stop the spread” of COVID-19 nationwide, Gentle Care Dentistry must make the difficult, unprecedented, and extraordinary decision to drastically reduce operations to the point of only appointing and seeing patients on a true emergency basis. This will be in effect until at least May 15, 2020, at which point its efficacy will be re-evaluated according to the latest recommendations and guidelines of the ADA, NMDA, and the federal government.
We will still remain open Mondays through Saturdays for emergency treatment: “emergency” being defined as signs or symptoms of a dental condition that threatens imminent and acute spread of infection or imminent loss of a tooth within three weeks. We will be staffed to accept calls, and all emergency patients must first speak to one of our attending dentists on the phone prior to the appointment being made. We are currently in the process of calling all scheduled patients to accommodate the rescheduling of your appointment if you have one within the next three weeks.
These are extraordinary times. While we have the ability to act in our own economic best interests and disregard the recommendations handed down to us in order to remain fully operational, we must choose to be leaders amongst colleagues and abide by such guidelines for the greater good of our community and the safety of our patients and team. This will certainly be challenging for all of us, but we will bounce back. When the dust settles, we will be stronger, and we will vigilantly work to recoup our collective losses through exceptional service to our patients and providing jobs for our team.
